The Wendy Williams Show Flop!

Thursday, July 31, 2008

I set my alarm clock for 6:15 am so that I could have ample time to get ready to go a taping of the infamous radio personality, Wendy Williams' new talk show.

My two cousins and I arrived at 10 a.m.--- an entire hour before the cut off time. You should have seen some of the people on the line. Apparently, Wendy has a wide range of listeners/viewers. It ranged from loud elderly White women to African-American cross dressers (How you doing?)

A staff member of the show came outside and handed out green index cards with numbers on them. I was number 67. She told us that those who came after 11 a.m. would receive a different color card and would only be able to be seated after the early birds were seated.

We waited and waited and waited. The weather was most uncomfortable and the sun was beating down on my back. I wiped the sweat off of my forehead as I wondered when the hell this line was going to start moving.

In the mean time, my cousins and I made small talk with the women around us as we discussed previous Wendy Williams shows and her most embarrassing guests. Speaking of embarrassing guests, Ray J (Brandy's brother) showed up. He took a few pictures (I didn't want one) and went on his way.

The line still hadn't moved and it was well after 11. What was taking so long!?!? The heat felt even worse and my cousin was complaining about her bladder.

The line didn't move an inch until about 10 minutes to 12 p.m. It moved about an inch exactly and I waited about another 15 minutes until it moved again. Just as the line began to move and they began letting people inside, the same staff member gathers up a group of people who were behind us and clearly hadn't arrived until after we did, moved them to the front of the line and let them inside.

By this time, I'm far past irritated and wondered what the hell they were trying to pull here! By the time we reached the front of the line, there were three staff members outside congregating. I could tell it was bad news as they kept looking at the rest of us who were still outside.

About 10 minutes later and 5 degrees hotter, we finally got the bad news. "I hate to be the bearer of bad news," one staff member said, "but unfortunately we are filled to capacity and we can't let anyone else inside. We really do apologize and will compensate you all with seating for another show."

I guess you can make out what happened next... OH HELL YES! The crowd went OFF!

Lets remember, I was number 67. You mean to tell me, that the audience cant hold more than 66 people? Oh wait! That's right, a whole crew of late comers got VIP treatment right on up to the front of the line.

What really bothers me are those damned numbered index cards. I'm sure they knew the number of seating available before they invited all 200+ of us down to waste our time, gas, and parking money. Why not cut off the numbers when it reaches the number of the venue's CAPACITY!!??!

Wendy really should look into some new staff. They are all obviously morons who know nothing about being professional.

I am too through!
