I know, I know, I know!! I'm late. I've got to start writing again. Better late than never-- right? lol. Remember the guy, Omen, I told you about in the previous post? Well, the mixtape sampler, "Delayed," is finally here!
If you haven't had the chance to download the mixtape yet, get it now! I had to post this for two reasons. Its a good album full of substance (which we're obviously lacking in Hip Hop) + I did the mixtape cover photo! (See previous post)
Omen is a southside Chi emcee doin' his thing out in New York right now. You may recongize him from his work with fellow up and comer J. Cole and here he comes correct with his own creative new mixtape entitled Delayed. If the cover art isn't attractive enough, then perhaps my favorite track from the mixtape, extracted above for a preview, "No Way" featuring Erica Thompson will inspire a full download of the mixtape. "No Way" contains a little bit of everything - meaningful lyrics, deadly punchlines (even if he name-dropped the most hated sports figure in Chicago, besides Jay Cutler, in Rajon Rondo), and a passionate break-neck flow. Bringing the record full circle is a production that changes amidst Omen's verses and in the hook with an addition of horns that match the soulful singing of Erica Thompson.
