All of my academic career I've been beat in the head with the idea that a degree is equivalent to success... not so!
I have a bachelors degree under my belt and I still can't find a decent job. Since I graduated in May, I've applied to roughly 113 different jobs and internships related to my field of study and so far I've come up with nothing. My "sent" box is flooded with resumes and cover letters--- not one single reply! I can't even snag a position to work for FREE!
Sadly, I'm not the only one going through. Many of my fellow graduates have also found great difficulty landing entry-level positions in their field of interest.
Thanks to the plummeting economy, the road isn't looking too pretty. But here's some words of encouragement. Patience is a virtue. Nothing great comes over night. Sit tight and keep trying. We won't be broke too much longer. Something has got to fall through eventually... Right?
I feel like I'm preaching to empty pews.
Who the hell am I kidding? Find your bottle of liquor and a nice big pillow to sulk in! (Just kidding--- or not).
Good luck to you all on your journey's toward success. I wish you even better luck paying back those tuition loans.
